Who is eligible to become a participant in I am the Shield for Fire?

Volunteer firefighter, retired volunteer firefighter, family members of a volunteer firefighter, community member, businesses, anyone that is interested in collaborating to have a sustainable volunteer fire department.

Benefits that require any financial help for volunteer firefighter.

For volunteer firefighters, benefits that require any financial help or replacement of items, you must have been a participant for 60 days or more.

Benefits for a participant of I am the Shield for Fire

  • By participating in our surveys, we can get a clearer understanding of what decisions of our elected officials and paid fire administrators’ policies affect the fire community and the individual firefighter.

  • We ensure your voice is protected. We do not make our membership public.

  • We do not show who voted for what.

  • We do not show who asked a question, made a suggestion, or had an idea. Unless you what your name published
